Our Team at Fhionn’s Afterschool includes Administration Staff, Childcare Professionals, Parents and Students. All staff are Garda Vetted, hold current First Aid certificates and are expected to complete Child Protection training, Manual Handling, Food Handling & Fire Safety training – all provided by the service.
Our Care Staff
Childcare Staff also hold FETAC Level 5 Childcare qualifications as a minimum although some staff have completed Level 6 and degree courses. In addition some staff are trained in Montessori, Social Care, Highscope and in other teaching methods.
All of our staff work as a team and are encouraged in their training and personal development through support and supervision and in house workshops provided as required throughout the year. This enables us to provide quality of care to all of the children here at Fhionn’s Afterschool and a healthy work environment for our staff.
Administration is made up of the Manager, who is also a carer within the Afterschool Service. The Administration team is backed up by the company Directors who regularly meet with the Operations Manager to discuss quality, staffing, maintenance, finance and growth.
We facilitate students on work experience that are studying a range of childcare courses. These students work at Fhionn’s Afterschool, shadowing our staff, gaining practical experience and learning how to build relationships as well as the professional skill needed to enter the work force.
Partnership with Parents is an integral part of our caring team. Fhionn’s Afterschool maintains a high level of commitment to the families at our service and, for this reason; we wish to ensure that they have regular contact with us through Manager/Parent Meetings, Record Keeping, Open Days, Family Gatherings, and Social Events. We operate an excellent communication policy ensuring all our parents have direct access to and interaction with all members of the team.
